Coming Clean
I’m beginning to sense a trend here. First it was Ashlee Simpson with her nose job, then Cindy Crawford with her cosmetic surgery, now Jessica Simpson admits to getting some work done on her lips:
“I had that Restylane stuff,” she says. “It looked fake to me. I didn’t like that. But…it went away in, like, four months. My lips are back to what they were. Thank God!”
It seems like Hollywood is getting really confessional these days. I sort of appreciate the gesture, but then again…I sort of don’t. If you’re gonna get work done, then get it done. I don’t really want to know about it. And if you want to tell us, do it from the get-go. Fessing up a year or eleven years later just feels like you’re desperately trying to get me to like you. “I’m perfect so worship me. Oh wait, I’m not - I’m fallible and human just like you!” That’s why I have grudging respect for Christina Aguilera. That girl has got some girls, and we all know where they came from, and she knows we all know where they came from, but she doesn’t talk about it. At the end of the day, it’s her choice what she does to herself, and let’s just all enjoy her music and buy her album and get on with our lives. Speaking of which.
