The Body Shop Camomile Gentle Eye Make-Up Remover

body shop eye makeup removerAlert! Alert! I’m sounding the alarm! Apparently Jackie over at Jack & Hill has discovered some problems with her eyes that have risen out of using oil and glycerin-based products. Meaning you should be careful when it comes to your eye make-up removers.

I myself have been a loyal user of The Body Shop’s Camomile Gentle Eye Make-Up Remover for the past four years. I’ve tried a number of eye makeup removers, and not only are many of them oily, they also don’t do jack to remove my makeup. This one is water-based plus it completely removes my makeup in just a couple swipes.

I examined the ingredients online, and it seems like we’re good to go with The Body Shop version. However - and this is where I sound my second alarm - they have marked down their eye makeup remover online from $12 to $6. A limited time offer that’s effective until September 18.

At first, when I saw the huge discount, I thought this meant they were discontinuing the product, so I went into serious panic mode for a few minutes. But they’re not thank goodness. My heart rate is just returning to normal now.

christina. I love this blog. I’ve read all the posts, and I’ve learned a lot. I should probaby invest in a good make-up remover instead of using baby-oil right? But I still use a good face wash…so does it really matter at the end of the day? Does it?!

I’m not sure which face wash you use, but I like the Prescriptives All Clean foaming cleanser. It leaves your face feeling awesome, and has just a hint of “fresh/clean” scent.

anyways, that will conclude the longest comment ever. ;)

I use Mary Kay oil free eye makeup remover (and when I was selling MK products - I sold somet o friends who have sensitive eyes) and it worked well. Just doesnt take off really hard mascara.

Hey Jane - welcome! I can’t believe you’ve read all the posts - that’s awesome! As a tip - this blog doesn’t look great in IE (yet), so use Firefox if you have it.

If you can get your eye makeup off with your face wash, then you probably don’t need a separate eye makeup remover. But I can’t do that since I use Cetaphil which is awesome for sensitive skin, but not good for removing makeup.

My mom is a huge fan of the Prescriptives skincare line. I actually tried a bunch of her products over the weekend, including a cleanser that comes in a pink tube…? Is that the same one you use?

[…] On Friday, before my husband and I headed off to a night of taco eating with friends, we made a pit stop at the mall so I could pick up another bottle of my beloved eye makeup remover: The Body Shop’s Chamomile Gentle Eye Make-Up Remover. Now, I’ve written about this product before, but I want to reiterate how much I love it. If you want something non-greasy, highly effective and ultra gentle, then you’ve just met the remover of your dreams. […]
