Review: Lorac Gloss Stick
While we were in Boston, I made a point to stop at Sephora to try out the Lorac Gloss Stick that I saw in the recent issue of InStyle Makeover.
Of course, as luck would have it, the store was entirely out of alcohol so that I couldn’t properly sterilize the tester tube. Great. I love Sephora, but their testers can get seriously crusty and scabbed over.
Finally, I just scraped off a thick layer with some tissue, crossed my fingers that I wouldn’t contract herpes and put it on. And boy am I glad I did.
This might be one product worth contracting a viral disease over. It gives a beautifully subtle gloss to lips and provides a hint of color all without any preservatives. It’s also nicely moisturizing thanks to natural sunflower seed and Hawaiian macadamia seed oils.
The best part for me is that it comes in stick form, which makes it very clean and compact. (I’m at the end of my rope with goopy, liquid glosses.) Add another one to the ever-growing wish list…

You are TOO funny! I do the same thing - sometimes it’s better to scrape than dip in alcohol (thats what I do when I have 6 bridesmaids waiting…there is no dipping - only scraping) LOL

Hey makeupgirl - so you dip the whole thing in alcohol? I usually just wet a tissue in alcohol and wipe - do you think that gets off all the bacteria properly??
Karina - yeah, testers are pretty gross, but they’re a necessary evil, I’m afraid.

This is the best comment I’ve ever heard - “This might be one product worth contracting a viral disease over.”
LOL! You are too funny.

I know it’s been awhile since you posted this, but I just wanted to say “Thanks.” The gloss stick sounded exactly like what I was looking for - a mositurizing lipstick with subtle color. I finally made it to Sephora the other day and bought it in sheer berry. I LOVE it! I would probably never have tried it without your review - so thanks again!

Hi Sally, you’re absolutely welcome! I’m so glad you decided to give it a shot! And thanks for leaving a comment and letting us know what you think of the product. It’s nice to have someone else backing me up on my reviews!
