Happy Friday! Besides today, we also have two more beauty bloggers scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, so be sure to keep reading this weekend.
The series continues today as we take a look at what Kristen at Beauty Addict has in her shower. Many of the products featured here have been reviewed on her blog. I put in links to these reviews where I could find them, so be sure to click over if you want to read her assessment.

Kristen’s best bath and body tips:
- “Shave with bath oil to keep your legs smooth in the winter. I’m loving the Violet Bath Oil from elizabethW.”
- “Step back into the shower to apply self tanner - especially if it’s tinted. Any flying bits of tanner can be easily rinsed down the drain when you’re done, with no risk of ruining your towels or tracking it all over the floors. In my house, many a fluffy bath mat from Crate & Barrel has been saved using this method!”
Stay tuned tomorrow as we peek into the shower of The Makeup Girl!

Everyone has recommended using bath/shower oil and I’ve never tried it, so I have a few questions. First, it looks like most of these bottles come with regular screw tops, and it seems like it would be a huge mess getting the product out without it pouring all over. Second, how do you keep from slipping all over the tub when it gets on the floor? And third, how well does it sink into your skin after you’ve applied it? I have VERY dry skin on my legs, and it sounds like a great option for me, but it seems really inconvenient. Any advice you guys could provide would be awesome!

Hi Meg! Some people use bath oils to pour directly into their baths. I actually use mine as a moisturizer after my shower. The elizabethW bath oils do come with screw tops, so you just have to pour slowly. I think the Neutrogena bath oil has a little flip cap with a small circular opening so you have better control when pouring.
In regards to your second question, just be careful after you use your bath oil!! It might mean you have to clean your tub more often because it might get slippery.
Finally, your third question. I love using bath oil because I too have very dry skin. I find that the oils sink in very well and aren’t overly greasy while also providing great moisturizing power. Not all oils are created equal, though. Certain oils have a better ability to seep into the skin than others. For example, sweet almond oil and jojoba are supposed to be good. Olive oil, on the other hand, absorbs more slowly.

Meg - start with the L’Occitane Amande shower oil. It has cleansers in it and foams slightly, so it’s easier to work with. My all time favorite bath product! And it has a cap just like the Aveda shampoo in the photo, you press down on one end and the other side flips up. It also doesn’t create any slipperiness on the floor. Hope that helps!

Good thing you can’t see mine! I would be horrified. I get teased about the store I have going on in my shower. BTW, I always use Baby Oil right before I get out of the shower. Cheap and works well.

I forgot to say the obvious…makes my skin as smooth as a babies arse.

I have a passion for essential oil soaps made with natural butters, like Shea and cocoa butter. My personal favorite is Lickadoodles Essential Soaps. I never tried a shower oil. I always leave my skin a little damp and apply creams or butters. I think I’ll give the L’Occitane Amande shower oil a try. Does it have soap in it?

Darlene - yes, the Amande shower oil has cleansers in it. Try it! Everyone I’ve recommended it to absolutely loves it. I can’t live without it.

Christina and Kristen- Thank you for your thorough answers to my (admittedly, very long) question! I’ll definitely check out the ElizabethW and Amande soon, they sound fantastic!

Wow, I’ve never thought of using oil either… will have to try this! Thanks for the tip and peek into the shower!

I love Neutrogens Light Sesame Bath Oil. It’s really light and has a great gardenia scent. It absorbs so well, I sometimes dab it on my pulse points post shower. I makes a light but long lasting perfume.

You know, I’ve been meaning for ages to pick up some of the Neutrogena Sesame Bath Oil, but the few times I went to the store, they only had the unscented variety. I’ve used the Sesame Body Lotion, and love the scent of that one, so I know the bath oil has got to be a winner, too.
