Borghese
So I’m going to talk about another body scrub I’ve been using lately. (Yes, told you I was obsessed!!)
Borghese is sold at Bloomies and Lord & Taylor, and makes a high end line of bath and body products. I had the chance to try their Salt Scrub, and boy is it marvelous. The salt rests in a cream base that leaves your skin silky smooth without the greasiness that is par for the course with most oil scrubs.
The product contains grapeseed and olive oils, as well as avocado, mango and shea butters. Sea salt and pumice provide the exfoliaton, which is ultra gentle but very effective.
What I like about this product is that the granules really stayed with me as I exfoliated. Sometimes sugars and salts tend to dissolve in the shower water as I’m applying the product, but not this one. It kept going until I was ready to rinse off.
A 16oz jar retails for $37.

Hey Christina, how long does a jar that size typically last? I love body srubs (still using a lavendar one that you gave me for X-mas a while back!)

It depends on how often you use the scrub and how much you use. I am in love with body scrubs, so I use them often and with abandon. If I used a 16oz jar for my entire body, 2-3 times a week, I’d say it’d only last me a month.
Which is fine, because once you start introducing water into a jar of scrub, you run a higher risk of bacteria growing in there. Even with preservatives in the product, I notice my scrubs start smelling kind of funky if I leave them for too long. Plus, using them up faster gives me an excuse to go buy more!

The Borghese cosmetics that they sell at Costco as a partnership with the “Kirkland” products are really terrific. I have an eyeshadow quad from the line that is just super.

[…] Excuse me while I go sob quietly in the corner for what was once America’s icon of style and classiness. While I go and do that, could someone please pass Ms. Paltrow a jar of body scrub? […]

Hi! I was wondering if you had ever tried IOE (www.isleofeden.com) scrubs. I just got my first order and was suprised at how true to life the scents were. Lots of foody scents, I tried Blood Orange/Cotton candy today and I wanted my shower to last forever! The texture is differnt from what I’m used to. It looks super scrubby in the jar but when you put it in water it both scrubs (not too harsly) and bubbles like soap, leaving the skin feeling smooth and moisturized but not too oily. My favorite before this was bath and body works co biegelow peppermint. This has a completely different texture but it is awesome! She has a ton of scents too.
