Einstein Lip Therapy: Pure Genius!
Honestly, every time I buy a lip balm, I swear it’s going to be my last. I must have about 20 of the suckers. But this time (I swear!), I might have found my last.
Einstein Lip Therapy is absolutely brilliant (as my British boss would say). It leaves a cool, tingly feeling on my lips. Plus, one swipe is all I need to last me through the day (more than I can say about some lip balms!).
The smell reminds me of Tiger Balm. And no wonder, since the creator of Einstein Lip Therapy, Ben Einstein (also former owner of Hard Candy), was working in Japan as a cosmetic consultant when he came up with the idea for the product.
There are two products in the line: the Hydrating Lip Cream described above, which contains cocoa butter and Vitamins A and E.
Then there’s the Cooling Lip Relief which is a moisturizing cream that contains little beads to exfoliate. Honestly, there aren’t enough beads in the product to actually exfoliate, but it’s an amazing product if only for the novel fact that you’re putting cream on your lips! It felt weird upon first application, but now I love it - and it works too!!
And you gotta love the packaging. Very Asian-kitschy-cool.
Plus, the products have a celebrity following that includes Mandy Moore, Kiera Knightly, Matt Damon, Leonardo DiCaprio, Johnny Depp and Christina Aguilera. I know - why should it matter if a celebrity likes the stuff? Call me shallow, but somehow the thought of Leonardo DiCaprio applying Einstein Lip Therapy in the rearview mirror of his Prius makes me want to buy buy buy!!!
Retails for $6 at CVS stores.

I’ve thought about trying this for a long time.. I think I’m going to get the one with the exfoliating beads, just because it’s pink, I know.. I tried, the pink thing just won’t go away…
by the way, have you ever heard of Lollia hand cremes? They are sold in Anthropologie and carry perfume, bath treatments, etc. I just came across it today and I am addicted to their “Believe” hand creme, the smell reminds me of the last time I went to Thailand (7-8 yrs ago). So weird, because “Believe” have notes of Cabbage Rose and Citrus, but none of that is native to Thailand..
anyways, check out lollialife.com. Great scent, beautiful package, the hand creme is not greasy, a little pricy though.

Hey Stephanie - yes, I’ve heard of Lollia hand cremes - their packaging is gorgeous. I especially like the packaging of their hand cremes - it looks like a toothpaste tube, which for some reason, really does it for me.
I’ve tried the Believe creme at Anthropologie. I thought it was pretty nice - not as thick as the L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream, but still nicely moisturizing. The scent was pretty, but it didn’t stick with me for whatever reason.

I love the middle school appeal of twisting the lid off of a little pot of lip gloss…that is until I get the stuff under my nails. I try the brush route but that somehow takes away the kitsch factor. At this price I just may go pick up some of those adorable pots anyway…For the frequent reapplication of lip balm I have to go with tubes though. I just reviewed Philosophy Lip Shine on my blog, I’d love to know what you think of it!

Hey Sarahanne - my friend uses the Philosophy Lip Shine and it makes her lips look fantastic! She layers it over lipstick to give her lips more color.
